Frequently Asked Questions

The Estimate of Value (EOV) and Business and Market Analysis (BAMA) provides business owners with a realistic understanding of what the market would most likely bear for their company in today’s marketplace. Find out more about the Process!

What is the Estimate of Value (EOV) product?

The Estimate of Value (EOV) is a business valuation report that contains financial analysis, industry research, market data, and ultimately, the estimate of the business’s value (what the market would most likely bear for the company today).

What is the Business and Market Analysis (BAMA) product?

A Business and Market Analysis (BAMA) delivers all the benefits of the Estimate of Value (EOV), plus a salability assessment and industry benchmarking.

Is this a certified valuation?

No, the Estimate of Value is not certified, and therefore we do not have to adhere to a strict set of formulas and guidelines. The Estimate of Value was developed by the Business Analyst through decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions and time-tested procedures. It is based on real industry and market data from current sources and your company’s current cash flow and future earning potential. It’s part-science, part-art. We take the time to understand you, your business, and your industry, not just the numbers.

How can I use the Estimate of Value?

The Estimate of Value is useful in a variety of circumstances that business owners may find themselves in. Are you a business owner heading to retirement or considering other exit options? An Estimate of Value will help you understand what your business is worth in order to weigh all your options (ie sell, seek additional investment, hold and grow the business, etc). Are you buying a business? An Estimate of Value can help you make a fair offer. Are you estate planning or updating a buy-sell agreement with a business partner? An Estimate of Value can help you understand the value of your business in order to put common sense, realistic plans in place for the future. Are you considering an internal transition to the next generation or to your current management? An Estimate of Value helps all parties understand the value of the business in today’s market in order to pave the way for a smooth and fair transition. Are you simply doing some benchmarking or strategic planning for your company’s future? The Estimate of Value provides accurate, timely, and realistic information so you can make well-informed business decisions for your future.
