Readiness Scorecard

DealCoach's assessment of how prepared a business is to sell, scored across nine drivers and delivered with the Business and Market Analysis.

In more detail

The Readiness Scorecard scores a business from 0 to 100 across nine drivers of saleability, the things buyers actually discount for: customer concentration, owner dependence, quality of the financial records, the strength of the management team, recurring revenue, growth, and the rest. Each driver is answered on a six-point scale and scored separately, so you see where you are strong and where the value is leaking, rather than a single number with no instruction attached. The overall score maps to five bands, from Limited Saleability at the bottom through Developing, Viable and Strong Performer to Best in Class. Below 30 the honest guidance is to fix before going to market. Above that, the work shifts from repair to premium: which one or two drivers, improved, move the multiple most. It ships with the Business and Market Analysis rather than the Estimate of Value, because it answers a different question. The EOV tells you what the business is worth. The Scorecard tells you what to do about it.

If you are selling

The per-driver scores are the useful part. A single overall number tells you how you feel; nine driver scores tell you what to work on first.
